Fat-Burning Foods

Is There Really a Fat-Burning Food?

In truth, there is no such miracle food or drink, but there are foods that speed up metabolism. The basis of weight loss is balanced, healthy eating plus regular exercise. Add these foods to your daily diet to help speed up your metabolism:

1) Pineapple: thanks to its bromelain it speeds up metabolism, and its diuretic effect helps against edema. Add 2 thin slices to a snack or breakfast.

2) Yogurt and kefir: their protein and calcium keep you full and support weight loss especially around the waist and abdomen. Add ginger and cinnamon to boost the effect; both spices also support fat burning.

3) Eggs: an excellent protein source, and the choline in them supports fat burning. Do not skip eggs at breakfast.

4) Chili pepper: the capsaicin that gives red pepper its heat speeds up metabolism, raises body temperature after a meal and helps you burn fat faster.

5) Coconut: rich in medium-chain fatty acids that raise metabolic rate. Have coconut milk or the fruit at breakfast or snacks.

6) Caffeine: speeds up metabolism and helps the body burn more fat. A few cups of coffee a day is enough, but avoid too much, as the body becomes more tolerant to its effects.

7) Green tea: raises body temperature and energy expenditure. Its active compound is 5 times higher than in black tea, so choose green tea over black to support fat burning.
